If you are new to Pilates, we recommend you to take advantage of our Introductory Special which includes 3 private sessions to be scheduled at your convienence. This will get you started with your Pilates experience.

Returning To Pilates?

If you are returning to Pilates, we offer private and semi-private sessions as well as group Pilates classes. Please seek instructor's approval for the advanced level classes.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a physical fitness system developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century which builds flexibility, muscle strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips and back. It emphasizes spinal and pelvic alignment, improving coodination and balance. Core strength and breath is the foundation of Pilates exercise.

Pilates is comprised of six main principles which include Concentration, Control, Centering, Efficiency of Movement, Precision and Breathing. Pilates' system allows for different exercises to be modified in a range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

Pilates is for EveryBody! Movements are performed on Balanced Body Allegro Reformers, Towers, Combo Chairs and other apparatus.  These adjustable spring tensions strengthen areas of weakness and integrate balance alignment and flexibility with the whole body.  To assist progress, props and small equipment devices are also part of Pilates repertoire, allowing clients to take their exercise programs home.
